Deshaun Watson Suspended Six N.F.L. Games for Sexual Misconduct

Sources say that the ex-Texans quarterback who signed a $230million guaranteed contract with Cleveland Browns won't be fined.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson participated in training camp last week as an arbitrator weighed whether he violated the N.F.L.’s personal conduct policy

Deshaun 'Watson, the Cleveland Browns' quarterback, was suspended for six games Monday by the N.F.L. for violating its personal conduct policy.

He was not fined according to a person who knew the matter but was not permitted to speak publicly. The N.F.L Players Association did not immediately respond to calls for comment.

Sue L. Robinson (retired federal judge) was jointly appointed by N.F.L. to make the ruling. The ruling was made by Sue L. Robinson, a retired federal judge jointly appointed by the N.F.L.

The league and players union have three days to file a written appeal. This would be handled either by Commissioner Roger Goodell, or another person of their choice.

In a statement, the players union stated that it will not appeal Robinson's decision and called upon the N.F.L. The ruling should be allowed to stand.

Watson will be eligible for a return to play when he is reinstated from suspension. It will have been approximately 22 months since Watson last played in an N.F.L. game.

After a 15-month investigation into claims that Watson, the Houston Texans' quarterback, had sexually coerced and lewd behavior towards women he employed for massages, the ruling was reached.

Watson denied the allegations and grand juries from two Texas counties declined Watson criminal charges.

Watson reached settlements with all 24 of the women who had filed civil lawsuits against Watson.
