Comedian Kenan Thompson has been reacting to a lengthy debate about 'Saturday night Live' coming to an end after the show's 50th season
The debate began after the show's producer Lorne Michaels stated in the past year that he was committed to the show until the 50th season.
This is a few months after Kenan is one of the cast members with the longest tenure of the show responded by saying that it's 'not an unwise idea'.
the 44-year-old actor was questioned by host Charlamagne to tell God regarding the story which he laughed and replied, "Well have to begin making plans.
He also added "There may be a lot of truth to that claim because 50 is an acceptable number to be stopping at."
It's an amazing package. It's likely that he'll be around 80 years old older at this point and, you know it's him who's got his hands to the whole affair," Kenan said.
He also spoke about SNL's future SNL without its producer Michaels, "So, if somebody tries to come into his shoes, you know it's a good opportunity for NBC to save money,
as well, you know what I'm saying? So they might slash the budget and then at that point, you can't really do the same kind of show."
Kenan began his involvement in the series back in 2003, and the fourth season that is scheduled to debut in September is the 20th season of Kenan's show.
